is one of my all time favorite quotes. As Steve Jobs would say, I like to hit things with the "simple stick"... simple branding and simple instructions to make marketing an online business a breeze.
A bit about me... I live in central Minnesota in a very small town surrounded by lakes. I'm an introvert, a voracious reader, a gamer, and a lover of loud music. I lead a quiet life with my big strong construction worker, our 14 year old budding artist, and our demanding yet adorable Pom A Pug, Astro, who makes an occasional appearance on my facebook page.
My love of graphic design and marketing all began 20 years ago when I had a brand new photography business and couldn't afford to hire a professional designer to do our graphics and ads. I DID have enough to buy a computer and do it myself... and I loved it! I went from designing brochures and ads for myself to signs and logos for the surrounding communities to blogs and web graphics for my friends. When I discovered other designers on Etsy, I couldn't wait to try it out for myself. I set up a shop and had my first sale within 12 hours. HOOKED!
This could not have happened at a better point in my life. I had been working part time and was laid off less than 2 months after opening my shop. We decided that working from home would be the best thing for my health and so I jumped into my Etsy shop with both feet. I've never looked back! My shop has a lot changed over the past year and a half. I now offer premade designs as well as custom logos and branding services.
I am passionate about logo design, it is by far my favorite way to spend my time! I could, and do, spend my days playing with fonts and color schemes. Most of my graphics are "computer" drawn. I do have a wacom tablet but I have an easier time with my mouse. This next week will bring even more changes to my shop as I add an eBook section. My first eBook is my Marketing eLab which dives deep into setting up and streamlining your social media strategy. All the details will be revealed in my Branding & Beyond Newsletter which comes out on Tuesday.
