We are excited to announce that we have some new adventures taking place at Kater's Acres. We are currently consulting with a local business to place some of our Parkers, Parker Scenes, Chubbies, and Pet Rocks into their store.
We have been discussing on our blog what branding is and how to make your brand work. We have given you our opinion for several weeks that just because you can make something does not mean that it should end up in your carefully branded store. By restructuring Kater's Acres, we are eliminating the "artsy clay" items, as well as buttons, and continuing our focus on Parker, the Chubbies, Pet Rocks, and whimsical sculptures. Upon starting on this restructuring and making Parker more available to the public, we have realized that some aspects of our business needed to change, primarily our pricing.
Up until this point at Kater's Acres, all of our items have been priced at wholesale cost. Unfortunately this does not leave us room to enter the retail market. This change in our business may seem like a surprise to some of our loyal customers. We hope to cushion the burden by offering all of our customers a coupon good for one month only (expiring the end of June) for 15% off your purchase. Use coupon code: "ILuvParker" to receive your discount anytime during this month.
Additionally, we are going to offer a flat rate shipping fee for the Continental US and Canada. Also with this expansion and renewed focus, we are now going to offer our items to the overseas markets. This change in price will allow us to reward our loyal customers with a few coupons throughout the year. We will still continue to offer our customers FREE SHIPPING when their purchase exceeds $60. And are still formulating our new customer loyalty plan, with the help of some of Parkers adoptive parents.
You will see a new section in our store entitled "Closeouts - Last Chance." In addition to this section, we are no longer going to carry our wide selection of buttons. For all of these items while we enjoy making them, they are no longer going to be carried by our store as we are putting that creative energy into making Parker scenes, Chubbies, and Pet Rocks. We hope that you will continue to find joy, laughter, and a few smiles from Parker and all his friends, and that you will continue to shop with us for years to come. We are hoping and praying that you will continue to watch as Parker grows. Please look for new Parker items coming to our store this week.

This is a great idea. A create person as yourself should certainly focus more on Parker and his buddies. I can't see what you come up with next.
I think Parker is priceless and am happy that you will be earning a profit on him with you improved pricing. He is 100% worth it
Katie - you are following through with the branding element which we all know should be done but most of us don't do it. I applaud your decisions.
Parker is more than worth the price increase and with your loyalty plan and coupons, you are still taking good care of your customers. The new shipping policies will help, too.
I know a lot of thought has gone into these decisions and feel that Parker will do nothing but increase his fan base.

Parker is so worth it. I got my new Parker the other day, all I can say is OMGOSH he is amazing! So worth it.
