Hi Katie! Hope I’m as lucky as last time πŸ™‚
I like to use a bit of everything in my mixed media creations; beads, metal, clay-cloth, bone, wood, stone, rhinestones, etc. Sometimes more really is better, lol!
Blessings, Terri

My husband and I are just getting started with Polymer Clay. We both enjoy it greatly. His favorite thing to do is mixing colors and making canes. My favorite thing to do is make buttons.

My favorite thing to use is gold leaf to mix in to bead blends. I make a lot of beads by chopping up clays that are in the same color family — once I have a nice mix, I lay a lot of gold leaf flakes over the top of the mix and again chop away, until it is all blended in before rolling out the size needed for the beads I am making. As I make the beads, you can see the gold leaf. Especially nice if there is also translucent in the bead mix (and there usually is) which lets the gold shine thru.

Of the things I have tried, my favorite mixed media elements are gears and fibers. I added some fibers to some rolled beads that came out great!

This is one of the books I don’t yet own, so I have my fingers crossed!

“What is your favorite mixed media element to use in your polymer designs?”

There are quite a few I like to use, but (no holes) beads and gold/silver leaf must be the ones I use the most πŸ™‚

This is such an awesome book! I saw previews and it even has some of the birds in there, like in the out-of-print Birds book! Keeping my fingers crossed here πŸ™‚
