My question is how do you get people engaged when they come round your house, looking to ‘play with clay’? What do you do with absolute beginners to show them how amazing it is, without overwhelming them?

My ? is…I will make canes or laminated sheets to cut, but most time it is several days before I can get back to use them and then the clay starts cracking and splitting when I disturb it. Any tips? Should I be warming them up if so, how would someone warm up a sheet of clay that is ready to be cut into designs.

Is there an easy way to make fairy hands and feet? I seem to get one made but then have trouble getting the second one made. Very strange.

Such beautiful Colors! Would love to have them. I am trying to develop my skills with Polymer Clay and would someday like to do work that I can sell. Until then, I will give away my creations to friends and family.

I see people make really huge canes and I wonder how they know how much to start with when they are designing the cane. 🙂

I have some of the Surface FX collections. Do you use the larger glitter-like colors similar to Pearl Ex? By dusting it over the surface? I’m not quite sure how to use those!

I don’t use metal clay at this time Selene, so I can’t help you there. But there is lots of information available on this from other artists like Lisa Pavelka.

How do you decide how long to bake a piece of clay if you are sculpting a large or thick piece? Also how do you decide how often to stop and bake multi-layer pieces?

The question I have, is how do you warm up/condition previously made canes and treated sheets? I see people make massive canes and store them or silkscreen sheets and put aside the excess for later. But how do they warm them up again later, enough to manipulate or adhere to fresh clay, without cracking?
