The 2016 polymer clay challenge is still underway. This week brings us to week 32 of 52 and the introduction of The Spoon Brothers: Happy and Sad.
I really do enjoy sculpting faces. This little pair of face spoon sculptures I made as a throw-back to drama masks. This is Happy and Sad. I made these tiny little faces on the wrong side of a silverware brass spoon stamping. Then after making the faces I bent the spoon stamping backward to create a bail for my little faces. I wore Happy around while I ran errands the other day and he got a lot of attention and a few random stares.
Many of you continue to ask me what I was going to do with all those heads I’ve been making. Well, the heads were just practice for this new line of creatures bouncing around in my brain. There will be many more of The ‘Schrumes© released over the next several weeks as well. Does this mean that I’m done sculpting heads without bodies? Definitely not! My face vase still has plenty of room in it for stand alone giant heads!
Visit the FANTASY FACES GALLERY here on the site to see all the faces I’ve created in one place.
