What’s Going On at Parker’s Clay Tribe
April “Beads” Swap
This monthly post will highlight some of the things that have been going on in our Tribal community. Our forth swap was well received with a lot of great participation. Like previous months, our swap theme was a nice open ended theme, “Beads.” Having a more open ended theme allows people to be free to create with their creative expression and to allow the creativity to flow where they are already comfortable. Looks at these awesome beads that Laurie Bielby sent to Krithika Parthan. WOW!
Swap partners for May have already been assigned. eMails were sent to members who are participating earlier in the week. Please remember that your swap MUST be mailed by May 31st, 2016.
May & June – Bird House Challenge
Our first & second challenges were a huge success. We’re hoping for more fun & adventure from this challenge theme: Bird Houses. You have until June 30, 2016 to finish your houses. More information will be coming soon.
Fairy Door Challenge Winners
This challenge had so many stand out entries it made if very hard to choose just one winner. Today, I present to you, the winners of the Fairy Door Challenge chosen by my darling husband, Luke Oskin. Once again, Luke is a qualified judge because over the years his eyes have seen top notch work by world famous artists including Christi Friesen and Lisa Pavelka. He’s also seen hundreds of other’s work come flooding into our home. He’s has a great eye for color and balance. Since he is NOT on Facebook and has no idea who any of our entrants were, this enabled him to be a fantastic and unbiased judge. Additionally, he wants you all to know that this month was VERY hard for him to choose just ONE door winner and wants to congratulate you all on your hard work.
Grand Prize Winner
Patricia Roberts-Thompson’s fairy door (on a journal cover) was chosen as the Grand Prize Winner this month. Patricia will win 3 FREE months to Parker’s Clayful Tutorial Club. What won Luke over for the door was the delicate entry window and door knob.
Most Creative & Best Execution Winners
Winner of the title of “Most Creative” goes to Amanda Jane Hackney for her horse themed fairy door. Luke loved the creativity and all the “parts” that the door contained matching the horse theme. Well done!
Winner of the title of “Best Execution” goes to Gayle Osborne Thompson for her fairy door jar. Luke loved all the stone work, cut outs, and antiqued effects. Well done Gayle!
Work In Progress Photos
Gayle Osborne Thompson is working on a very thoughtful and sentimental gift for her daughter-in-law who is fighting breast cancer. This gorgeous Proverbs 31 Box will hold her Proverbs 31 Woman she made using my tutorial. Fantastic job Gayle!
These adorable little Patriotic pinwheels were made by Nicole Morris Humphrey. They are perfect for the upcoming patriotic holidays too! Great work Nicole!
If you are a Tribe Member be sure to post your work in progress (WIP) photos for a chance to be featured here as well. You can post your WIP photos any day of the week, it doesn’t have to be just on Wednesdays.
