Summertime is almost over, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t hold onto summer just a little bit longer. Here’s one of my favorite blue color recipes to help you extend the summer into the fall months.

Polymer Clay Color Recipe Metallic Ocean Blue by KatersAcresI use a lot of blue in my studio, but I usually make my own versions of blue. This is one of my favorite blue recipes. To make this polymer clay color recipe of metallic ocean blue (shown far right in picture), use the following portions of Premo! by Sculpey polymer clay:

  • 1 part Navy Blue
  • 1 part Peacock Pearl
  • 1 part Turquoise

***Note: Navy Blue Premo! was discontinued in 2015. Get the color recipe to make your own navy blue here.

Variations on the polymer clay color recipe above:

  • Add 1/2 part white for a lighter blue
  • Add 1/2 part more navy blue clay for a deeper, richer blue
  • Add 1/2 part ecru for a “murky” blue color
  • Add 1/2 part more peacock pearl for a more green blue
