The Biggest StoryBook Scene I’ve Ever Made!

Parker's GingerBread House StoryBook Scene by KatersAcres

There’s something that I’ve never done in my life…and that is make a GingerBread House.  I love the way they look and the smile that they bring to everyone’s face when they are seen around the house.  So this year, as the Grand Finale to the Twelve Days of Christmas, I made my very first GingerBread House!  After 12 grueling hours in the studio, Parker’s first GingerBread House came to life.

Parker’s GingerBread House Story:

An icon of Christmas is the Gingerbread House. Parker is standing outside his very own Gingerbread house. His house is decorated with polymer clay goodies galore. Gumdrops, candy canes, holiday wreath, peppermint discs, and so much more! Ice & snow decorate the scene around the house, trimming the goodies, and even running done the peppermint sticks, doorposts, and decorations. Parker loves the holidays, especially Christmas! But this house is making him just a little hungry.

How Parker Was Made:

This storybook scene featuring a bright red Parker is made with Premo polymer clay. Parker is metallic red and holds a wire candy cane. I have handmade 36 colored “gum drops” from polymer clay and accented them with ultra fine sparkling glitter. The door is decorated with leaves & berries above it’s crest, while a beautiful wreath with an aurora borealis nugget decorates the roof line. A boy and girl gingerbread button dance happily across the scene, while holly & berries in glittered accents decorate the corners. The roof is decorated with handmade caned peppermint discs of different sizes, while the walkway features a red & white caned walkway. Glitter hearts decorate each side of the gingerbread house, while snow and ice made from both polymer clay and enameled paints decorate the entire scene. Three Christmas trees, one with a red & white rope and two with glass hot fix embellishment tie the scene into Christmas. The base wooden frame is covered in white polymer clay, round glass beads, and a resin top to resemble snow & ice.
