What Makes Parker Special?

Posted on 5 Comments

What makes Parker so special?  There are lots of things that make him special.  But today we want to discuss why Parker is so cherished, beloved, and a great piece of art.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked at one of our StoryBook Scenes and decided, “I just don’t think I can let someone adopt this one.” Ultimately, if I did that with every item I make, you’d never see anything new in our store, my house would be overflowing with adorable clay figurines, and I’m pretty sure my husband would think I was a crazy lady.

This being said, Parker is a very special part of my life and all the people who adopt him.  Unlike many other polymer clay creations, this is a character that we designed on a sketch pad years ago and brought to life a real, tangible, cute, and cuddly character.  Parker happened the same way some of the other great characters like Mickey Mouse, Yogi Bear, and Donald Duck happened…someone drew a character, wrote a story all about that character, and brought it to life.  We have done the same thing with Parker.  He has a story about how he came to life, what he means, and how precious he is to me and to my husband.  You can read that story here.

Parker is unique

Parker is something that you will only find here at Kater’s Acres.  Why?  Parker is a copyrighted design.  Only Kater’s Acres holds the license on Parker.  This makes this little cutie not only something to cherish but a one-of-a-kind (OOAK) gift that comes straight from the artist.  Every single one of our characters is hand stamped with our logo. Our scenes get extra special attention as they are hand stamped with our logo as well as signed with our signature.  You will not find these scenes anywhere else, because of the tiny details, uniqueness, and love that we use to create each and every figurine.

When you purchase a StoryBook Scene, you get a certificate of authenticity that is signed and dated for you, the new owner.  Most of our StoryBook Scenes (with a few exceptions) are one of a kind and will never be duplicated in the same manner again.  This makes each StoryBook Scene a special limited edition, collectors item that only you will own.  Parker loves to do new things and he’s constantly busy either making people laugh, causing people to smile, or getting into a little mischief as boys tend to do.

So what do you get when you buy a Parker from Kater’s Acres?  You get a one of a kind, handmade, limited edition, hand sculpted creation, made by yours truly.  We are an artist at heart and love sculpting and creating whimsical trinkets and treasures that you will enjoy for years to come.  Our StoryBook scenes take hours to make.  We labor over color choices, details, size, and whimsical additions so that when you receive your item, you know you are getting a quality handmade item for yourself or someone you love.
There’s nothing more exciting than adopting a Parker for yourself or someone you love.  From the thrill of anticipation, to opening the box with a gleaming signed certificate of authenticity on the top, finding your tissue wrapped Parker, gently unwrapping him, and feeling the smile spread across your face.  When you adopt from us, know that you are getting a handmade creation that was made with love and a smile.

What do you do with your adoption? You can give it as a gift, set him on a windowsill, place him on a cake as a topper, or set him on the mantle for all to see.  Parker just wants to bring you and your family a smile, a thought for a warm day, and a gesture of love to your home.
