WIP Wednesday in KatersAcres Polymer Clay Studio

…A Lot I’ve Learned From Others…

Do you ever look at something so long that it starts to look funny or sound funny to you? Well, as I was writing this post, “work in progress” began to look rather humorous to me. Why? Well … because I’m not showing anything today that’s “in progress” but rather “done with progress” if you will!

I love to purchase other people’s tutorials. Mostly I like sculpture tutorials, but not always. I do a lot with polymer clay, but sculpture and whimsical design are my first “loves” if you will. Though when it comes to claying, I will admit, I love it all.  In fact, that’s the very reason why my hubby built me my very own polymer clay studio … or was it to get me to clean up … hmmmm. Anyway, let’s see what this week held, shall we (clockwise from top left)?

WIP Wednesday in KatersAcres Polymer Clay Studio
  • A long time ago I purchase Meg Newberg’s Gemstone Cane tutorial. Well, I had scraps … which turned into a rainbow blend, which turned into a gemstone cane … that turned out looking like tie-dye! Awesome!
  • Lump of Coal Ornament by KatersAcresMulti-colored glitter on black clay … I just can’t help myself. But please understand, my #1 ordered item this year was my Lump of Coal Ornament.
  • Cute little Christmas tree ornaments from scrap (tutorial coming on Thursday)!
  • My studio helper, who continues to steal my chair.
  • A new tutorial that I can’t wait to do. Talk about awesome! This is the Holo Effect tutorial from The Blue Bottle Tree’s Ginger Davis Allman. WOW! I can’t wait to start this one. Right now she’s having a special that if you buy the Holo Effect Tutorial you get the Christmas Ornament Supplement FREE!
  • The new Polymer Cafe magazine came in the mail. As usual, there are a lot of great articles to peruse.
  • More scrappy Christmas Tree ornaments (tutorial coming soon).
  • And last but not least, I made several Zombie Parkers! Cute and not scary. These little guys are ready to be adopted!

What are you working on?

What’s going on in your studio? What are you working on? Is there a project you’d like to see me tackle and feature on the blog? Let me know in the comments below. I’d love to hear your thoughts & ideas!

  1. Zombie Parker is so cute, I think the only thing that could make him even cuter is if he had glow in the dark clay mixed in.
I have 2 projects that are currently works in progress, Link from Zelda figurine and super Mario bros charms 🙂

    1. What a great idea Melodie! I hadn’t thought of that!

Oh cute! I used to LOVE the legend of Zelda game. I beat it several time. Mario was also a favorite game (the original Mario that is). But I always preferred the Luigi character to Mario.
