Well it’s here again, it’s Friesen Friday! Oh yeah! In case you missed it, make sure that you read the Overview for the Book 2 Tutorials for the month.
I don’t know about you, but I really like this “Welcome to the Jungle” Book. One of the reasons I like this book so much, is that it gives a lot of basic information for things that we can use our projects later on. Christie is quick to provide us not only with a wealth of information, but really awesome techniques that are simple easy to apply and yet look realistic and organic in their own way. So what do you think? I think we should start talking about leaves … shall we begin?
This is a set of 2 polymer clay embroidery technique tutorial that will teach you how to use the embroidery technique with polymer clay. His “feet” are pumpkin vines that will ‘knock’ against your door as it opens and closes. This handmade polymer clay item was handmade by me in my NE Ohio studio. He is truly a one-of-a-kind creation and will not be made again.

Into the Forest is an international collaboration of polymer artists and enthusiasts. It is inspired by the high altitude aspen groves in the Rocky Mountains. This project, Into the Forest is an evolving mixed media international installation from Laura Tabakman, Emily Squires Levine and Julie Eakes. The idea was to bring together as many polymer artisans as possible in a wide variety of ways. We were to imagine ourselves in a forest. See it in your mind: On the ground beneath a canopy of branches and leaves, unexpected life exists. We were asked to create pieces which will form its life elements. We will combine them into living colonies of varying shapes, colors and sizes. Here’s a look at what I created for Into the Forest.
