Meet June Gallagher
of Oaknwich Lane Designs
I recently came across June’s fabulous work when she applied to join the PCETeam. With just one look at her shop, my jaw dropped. I was so impressed. June has an exquisite eye for detail which she captures in her work. Today, I would like to take the opportunity to introduce her to the world and show off some of her fabulous work!

Meet June:
When I was in kindergarten, I made a bird using different types of paper and a salt shaker top for the head. My teacher told my mother that I would become an artist one day. From Play-doh to polymer clay, finger paints to oils, I have been creating ever since. Polymer clay, with its low temperature baking , enables me to continue my love of combining different materials to create OOAK sculptures. Being able to incorporate paper, wood, feathers, jewelry findings, beads and even sequins, to name just a few of the items you can bake with the clay, has opened up endless possibilities. And of course, acorn tops!
The History of Oaknwich Lane Designs:
For years, friends and relatives who have seen my work, have told me that I should sell it. This past July, I took the plunge and decided to open up a shop on Etsy. I really like Etsy’s community of artisans from around the world and I am honored to be a part of it. While owning a shop has sometimes been challenging, the joys are endless. People are seeing my work and I get a thrill every time someone “favorites” an item of mine.
Why My Work is Unique:
Crossing the line between fantasy and reality is what I enjoy the most. By adding fine details and incorporating many different materials, I try to make my sculptures come alive! One of the best compliments I have received was from my sister. When she was staying over, in the room I keep my sculpture in, she seemed a little leery. She told me that she was afraid to wake up in the middle of the night and see all of my sculptures dancing around! I told her that since it was not a full moon she had nothing to worry about!
My Favorite Items:
My mice, from their big shiny eyes to their little pink toes are fun to sculpt. They are simply adorable! Adding fairy lights to some of my sculptures has added a new dimension to my work. More original mice sculptures will be listed very soon. Plus I have inspirations for new and exciting designs that I cant wait to create!
Featured Item:
Of all the sculptures I have listed, SHATTERED is the one most dear to my life. Five years ago, my husband passed away leaving my children and myself devastated. In the ongoing attempt to have a positive outlook and be grateful for the blessings I have, sculpting has become more important to me and my healing process. SHATTERED shows a women lying on the broken puzzle pieces of her life, staring pensively into a crack mirror. It is very autobiographical.
Do You Take Custom Orders?
Customer satisfaction is very important to me, as is the honest friendly interaction between us. I work full time so I try to be very accurate with the time it will take to produce a sculpture. Since all of pieces are OOAK, I do not repeat a design but, if requested, try to sculpt something with the same essence. As with the recent order I had, once the time and price are agreed upon, I will email the customer with pictures of the finished sculpture for their consent to list it as a RESERVED item.
