It’s Christi Friesen Week!
I spent the past weekend with a terrific group of ladies who spent two full days taking classes with Christi Friesen. Christi is just as wonderful as every email & phone call I ever shared with her. More wonderful in fact … I love her to pieces. In honor of her and all she does for the Polymer Clay community … it’s Christi Friesen week!
Tomorrow, for WIP Wednesday, I’ll share pictures of the journey & the weekend activities. On Thursday we’ll talk about B’Sue Boutiques and her awesome shop for findings and metals. And join me on Friday for some terrific giveaways, you won’t want to miss it!
The Friesen Project
In 2013, I collaborated with Christi Friesen for a year long clay-along working through all of Christi’s books to date. The Friesen Projects are still here on the blog and you can get them at any time. After spending the weekend with Christi and speaking with her regarding the project, we have decided to release the Friesen project via email and reopen the FaceBook Group so anyone can clay along at any time.
Finding Your Voice
For any clayer, whether old or new, it is very important to develop who YOU are as an artist. At first you will notice the projects are almost identical to the book, but by month 4 they start to vary, often with me teaching my own version of those projects that are very dissimilar from Christi’s. In those cases you can do projects that are similar to hers, similar to mine, or better yet, your take on both projects.
What Is It
The Friesen Project will bring you hand-in-hand with Christi’s techniques, ideas, & projects. It will teach you to NOT be afraid of clay … NOT to be afraid of mistakes … and how to find your own voice. Every week you will get your project links in your email. All you have to do is create that project in the next week and post your results in The FaceBook Group to get help, tips, & creative inspiration.
The Friesen Project
The Friesen Project is done in conjunction with Christi Friesen. All tutorials are retaught here with her expressed permission. Please make sure to read about the project here, and get answers to the most common FAQS here.
