A New Kind of Black that Bewitches!
Learning to make your own polymer clay color recipes will get you a long way in your clay hobby skill set. And sometimes you want a different kind of “black” polymer clay, especially at different times of the year like Halloween. When I make my polymer clay creations, I often want to use black with a cool undertone. So, I make my own, and today I’m sharing the recipe with you.
To make this clay recipe of bewitching black (the right three clay samples in the picture) use the following portions of Premo! by Sculpey polymer clay:
- 3 parts Black
- 1 part Purple
- 1 part Purple Pearl
This color recipe is shown as the 2nd color on the left. Though hard to tell in the picture, the purple base give a delightfully spooky effect. The first color on the left is Premo! black, straight from the pack.
Variations on the color recipe above:
- Add 1 more part purple pearl for a more sparkly black (shown 2nd from right)
- Add purple glitters for a twinkling effect (shown far right)
