When I was a little girl, a dear lady from Germany taught me how to make roses and simple dolls out of fimo. Working with clay was my favorite activity throughout elementary school. I grew up and forgot all about it. I got my degree in elementary education, and after graduation I worked with children at risk in various social-service jobs. One day my mom brought out all the clay creations she had saved from when I was a child. All the joy and delight flooded back to me. I knew at that moment what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I want to bring the joy of creation to others! Now I teach art to people of all ages, and I can’t imagine anything I’d rather do!

My store is an invitation into my classroom and workshop. You can see the creative process unfold with each new tutorial. I have a backlog of ideas that I can’t wait to post! Each season brings new ideas, tutorials, and challenges.

My favorite items are my tutorials. I find so much joy in creating that I want to bring that joy to others for as little expense as possible.

Two unique canes that I have discovered are gemstone canes and fractal canes. Most people use canes for jewelry, but I like to use them as veneers for for sculptures, ornaments, and frames.

When I went off to college, my mom knit me the most beautiful afghan blanket. One day, I wondered if it would be possible to make a millefiori cane that looked just like little granny squares. I found a great solution and wrote it up as a tutorial. This has been one of my most popular tutorials. It’s always a delight to see other products for sale on etsy made using one of my tutorials.
