If you missed my “Regrouping” post last week you’ll want to take a minute to read it. It has some great advice for any of you who might be struggling right now with the weekly 2016 Polymer Clay Challenge. [Read the Post Here] Don’t be afraid to press the RESET button. If it’s not working, it’s just not working … pull yourself up by your bootstraps, face the truth, and move on. There … now don’t you feel better already?!
Being able to “let go” of things that just weren’t “clicking” with where I am in my polymer clay journey right now has really helped to release the anxiety, pressure, and struggle of working in my beloved polymer clay art. It has freed me so much that this past week I did a sculpt a day! (I only work in my studio M-F, hence, one per day.) I did this in addition to the other things I did for each of you, like the most recent Sunset Skinner Blend Recipe (that you really seemed to enjoy). This week brought me 5 new faces. So in two weeks I have 7 new faces to add to my ever growing Face Vase! [Get the tutorial to make your own Face Vase here].
I have not named all of them yet, but I do have “parameters” for some of them … at least for who they will become when they have the rest of their bodies…
The dark skinned face is a wizard, he will be tall, wise, and slender. The green skinned ogre lives under the bridge of Yonder Wood. DiNardo is my nerdy office-mate, who once he’s finished will stare at me while I work. By far, he is my favorite to date. The other two faces I do not yet have an idea of who they will become. The big secret … they just haven’t told me yet! 🙂
I have been asked by many people if I will be selling these on my site or in my Etsy store. The answer for now, is no. Sometimes an artist has to make things because they want to. Does that mean that I won’t be selling them? No. What it does mean is that right NOW I will not be selling them either in my Etsy shop or my website.
Visit the FANTASY FACES GALLERY here on the site to see all the faces I’ve created in one place.
Don’t miss my NEW Pinterest Board! It’s full of fun faces to inspire you in your creative journey. CLICK HERE to go to the board now. Pssstttt … Don’t forget to “follow” the board too.
