This project is completely my own. As we have gone on with the project, I have encouraged you to make your own things using Christi’s work as a stepping stone. This project will encourage you to do the same. Today’s assignment can be found on page 67-73 in Christi’s “Steampunkery” Book. Continue reading Steampunk Tutorial: How to Make a Cog or Sprocket
Today’s tutorial is taken from Christi’s book on page 31. As you will see as you open the book, there are no tutorials for this project! It’s a page of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea! It includes seahorses, fish, dragons, turtles, and many more. Since we have done the “Under the Sea” book, the individual tutorials for many of the projects will be linked below. This tutorial is my own, and not from Christi’s book, but is definitely Christi-inspired.

I recently came across June’s fabulous work when she applied to join the PCETeam. With just one look at her shop, my jaw dropped. I was so impressed. June has an exquisite eye for detail which she captures in her work. Today, I would like to take the opportunity to introduce her to the world and show off some of her fabulous work!

If there’s one thing that many artists (especially new artists) fear, it is color. The reality however is far different, there’s truly nothing to fear about polymer clay color, coming up with color palettes, or combining colors. Here’s a few videos that will help you break down color in some simple, easy, and bite sized nuggets.

It’s fun, cute, and best of all, you can make this really any way you want. In many ways, this project is similar to our Dragon Project from Christi that we started on at the beginning of the year. So get excited and make yourself something fun this weekend.

Many of you think that I was talking gibberish from February to March when we focused on Making Over Your Etsy Shop. You thought that I was just having you do pointless work in your Etsy store for no apparent reason. Right? I mean having your “About Page” filled out isn’t important, right? And making sure all your information sections are filled in aren’t important either, right? WRONG. I’m going to tell you why it’s more important than ever to have all of this filled out…

Making a cake topper is a lot of fun. I recently made a cake topper for my one of my girlfriend’s parents. They were celebrating a magnificent accomplishment; 25 years working as coaches for the local rifle team. So, my friend issued me a challenge to have me design and make a custom cake topper in their honor for their backyard summer celebration. I thought I would take a moment today to show you the me making a cake topper (in photos of course) so you could see how it was built step by step, piece by piece. If you would like to see more “in process” photos of my work on the blog, let me know!
