Polyform’s 2015 Color Reviews

Another week has come & gone. This past week I was wrapped up with the B’Sue Boutiques gang at her Second Annual Workshop. Here’s a bunch of stuff from my studio over the past 2 weeks. I’d love to see what you’re working on too. Feel free to share with me what you’re working on in the comments below. Post a link to your WIP post or a photo.

Knowing what to bring to a workshop if you’re a first time participant can be a challenge. Today, I’m going to help you feel comfortable in what you are bringing, how much to bring, and what happens if you forget something.

I’ve been SO busy in my studio lately that my posts here on the blog are falling a bit behind. How can you tell? Well, my WIP Wednesday post is going up today (Thursday) with yesterday’s post date. OOPS! That being said, my studio has been abuzz with Parker this week. My last Parker was adopted last week. I usually make about 2-4 dozen Parker’s at a time, so it was time for another run. This week however I’m back to tutorial creating, writing, & photographing.
Sometimes you get the most gorgeous colors in polymer clay just by playing around. This super-easy color palette was a “happy accident” I came upon while making my Lily cane. It’s the color at the very END of the petals…

Welcome back to the Pavelka Project! This month we are doing a really fun project. We are making your own Garden Markers! Lisa has an excellent project in her book. My project is entirely different, but I think you’ll like it too. Feel free to use either my tutorial or the one Lisa provides in her book.

It’s been a long few weeks here at KatersAcres … but good weeks! I spent the last week on vacation with my hubby visiting family, so most of these photos are actually from the week prior. It’s hard to clay on vacation, even though I really wanted to.

This spring I’ve been busily making some new canes to enjoy and be creative with. Canes are especially great when you’re trying to use up some scrap clay from different projects. All you need is some scrap clay and a few clever Skinner Blends and you can create so many awesome millefiori canes, (including butterfly wing canes); it’s truly amazing.

As I looked back over the last several weeks, I realized that between Parker’s Clayful Tutorial Club, the blog, & Polyform, that I wrote 6 tutorials in the last 5 weeks. That’s more than one tutorial a week. It’s no wonder that I’m so exhausted!
I love using recipes to create new colors that I can use over and over again for my designs and art. Here’s one of my newer favorites. It has a delightful cool tone that goes wonderfully with blue color palettes.

This month’s project takes us on a new journey with polymer clay. In case you missed the project assignment or materials, CLICK HERE to get them now. This month you are specifically using foiling techniques to make anything you’d like! YAY!
Here’s a very simple project that you can do with foils. Remember that foils can be used for jewelry, sculpture, beads, polymer painting and so much more. Feel free to use your own design ideas for your project.

Welcome back to the Pavelka Project! This month we are working on another technique using leafing and foils. Any of the techniques you are using can be used in your pieces in the future.

My newest project for Polyform is part of my series of blog posts from the month of April. This project uses my favorite, Premo! polymer clay. Don’t forget to make this fluffy bird in as many colors as you can dream, create, and blend.
