Many years ago, Parker & Lolly had adventures all around Kater’s Acres. I captured each of those adventures in what I called a StoryBook Scene. After almost 6 years, I am happy to announce their return.

Parker Turns 10!
Posted on — Leave a commentA very long time ago a little yellow creation came into existence, his name was Parker. He existed long before his “clay form” came into being as a little friendly imaginary friend of mine. Shortly after his creation, I went through the process of obtaining a real US copyright license for him; so Parker© is even copyright official. Today Parker turns 10 years old and we’re going to celebrate his birthday all month long with some new designs, releases, special sales, discounts, and more. But before we do, let’s take a quick look back.

The quote above was said to me by someone I care about very much. And they challenged me with it at a very challenging point in my life. They used it to help me see the difficulty and circumstances in others and to help me reshape my focus. Need is all around us, but you have to first be able to see the need in order to be able to help those who need it.
As Pastors (read more about that here) my husband and I always try to do our best to reach out and help others. Even Kater’s Acres tries to help, give, and support others and their causes as well. This is exactly how the CFRainbowTree got its start. Once again, we are convicted to help others in their time of need; because “where there is a need, rise to it.”

Posted on — 2 CommentsWhen you begin a new craft or hobby your work is often in it’s “rough” stages. You begin simplistically. Simple shapes, patterns, and techniques. Parker is one such example. Parker was not the first thing I made with polymer clay, but he was the first character I created with a full story line, home to live in, back store, friends, and plenty of adventures to be had along the way. But there’s a funny thing that happens when you work in one area long enough. You find that eventually you end up “growing up Parker.”

Parker’s Christmas GingerBread House StoryBook Scene
Posted on — Leave a commentThe Biggest StoryBook Scene I’ve Ever Made!
There’s something that I’ve never done in my life…and that is make a GingerBread House. I love the way they look and the smile that they bring to everyone’s face when they are seen around the house. So this year, as the Grand Finale to the Twelve Days of Christmas, I made my very first GingerBread House! After 12 grueling hours in the studio, Parker’s first GingerBread House came to life.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…but it wouldn’t be without a GingerBread House. ow.ly/fn0ZV CLICK to see it!

Posted on — 6 CommentsParker’s story begins in a place, not of this world…
Parker lived in the midst of the great clouds of Nimbus, a tiny town tucked high above the clouds beyond the deep blue sky. It was on the Nimbus Rainbow where Parker and his friends played each day. They would slide along the colored beams that arched over the town, dancing in the light each morning and playing in its rays. The Nimbus rainbow held all their secrets of magical places, knew all the adventures of make-believe that Parker dreamed and kept the town and its children full of life. Yes, Nimbus was a great place to call home. It’s a place Parker longs to return to…

Posted on — 5 CommentsWhat makes Parker so special? There are lots of things that make him special. But today we want to discuss why Parker is so cherished, beloved, and a great piece of art. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked at one of our StoryBook Scenes and decided, “I just don’t think I can let someone adopt this one.” Ultimately, if I did that with every item I make, you’d never see anything new in our store, my house would be overflowing with adorable clay figurines, and I’m pretty sure my husband would think I was a crazy lady.
