WOW! What a busy past few weeks in my studio. I had plenty of tutorials to write for Club Members, lots of playing to do, and even a few challenges to figure out as well. I think I kept myself plenty busy. I’ve separated the above graphic into quadrants so you can better follow along and see what I’m doing.
There’s an awesome little wax pencil that gets a lot of use in my studio. If you’ve ever worked with little gems and especially flat backed beads, you’ll be familiar with this VERY inexpensive tool. It’s called a Wax Pick-Up Pencil and you can buy them right here!

Why throw out all those tiny little cane ends? You can still use them, even if there’s not enough for a large project. I’ve been making these little flower head pins ever since I began making my own canes. For those of you who don’t already know, I have a thing for flowers. I LOVE them. But … I live in the woods. Flowers don’t grow well here. So instead, I made a TON of flowers in the spring & summer months from clay.
This project is a fun & quick way to use up those wonky ends & slices you may have cut from your canes. Placing these flowers on longer pieces of wire will allow them to be used as plant pokeys, tied into the center of a bow for a gift, jewelry head pins, and so much more.

I have assembled the “top five” polymer clay books, based on my opinion alone. I will also recommend an additional 3 books that also rank very high on my list, and in fact made this a very hard decision in 3 of my categories.
One of my favorite posts that other artists do is a glimpse into their studio. I love to see their workspaces, how they create, and even the tools they use. While this post will NOT be exhaustive by any stretch of the imagination, it will definitely give you some great insight into my daily grind in my polymer clay studio.
