Do you know what’s just around the corner? FALL! My favorite season of the entire year (most likely my affinity for leaf canes). This project is much easier than it looks. All you need are a few simple supplies and some complimentary leaf canes.
One of the things as artists that we need to pay careful attention to is not only the execution of a design, but the finishing aspects of designing your work. Today we’re going to talk a little bit about finishing your polymer clay pieces to give a professional and high quality look that is above reproach.

I’ve gathered up some great tutorials (both new & old) that are great end-of-summer projects. These tutorials run the gamut of techniques, styles, & types.
It’s been a very long time since I did a product review for a polymer clay item. Many of you (my darling readers) know that I only review products that I love. There are a of really great products on the market, a lot of really bad products on the market, and some okay products on the market. I happened to pick up several jars of this product on my Christi Friesen Weekend and fell in love with it immediately, came home & purchased the rest of the collection. So, in terms of products, where does this one rank: Love, Meh, or Blech? It’s pure love baby! Christi Friesen Glitter Balms are one of those really awesome products!
There’s just something about spring, summer, gardens, and snails that makes me totally happy. This new worksheet will walk you through all the steps to make your own little garden variety (but cuter) snail to add to your potted plants, window sill, fairy garden, and so much more.
Don’t forget that when you get a worksheet from the shop, you get a coupon valid toward your NEXT worksheet purchase too.
Welcome to another special edition tutorial! Once again today I’m traveling to East Palestine, Ohio to join with Brenda Landsdowne from B’Sue Boutiques to film a new project tutorial for you. Brenda & Christi Friesen have joined together to create a new fun filled jewelry making group Bohemian Vibe. These pendants can be adapted to fit right into your Bohemian trend jewelry creations. And, yes, we’re making a smaller version in earring form too.
Yesterday I shared with you what I had been working on in my studio. One of those things was an “Old Man Face” for a challenge for a FaceBook group I participate in. I didn’t know what I wanted to do with this Old Man yet, so I let him sit (for about a week) and kept staring at him while I worked. Finally I started asking in FaceBook Groups what people thought I should do with him. Overwhelmingly, many people thought he looked rather Asian … that was not my intent, but okay. I decided to run with it!
Ancient Egypt has long fascinated me. I love the history, the stories, the Biblical events … everything. When my husband and I journeyed to New York City in 2010, we went to the King Tut exhibit. One of the things I have always wanted was my own gold cartouche. Sadly, with the price tag being well over $200 there was no way I could afford it. But as always, polymer clay to the rescue … with an awesome DIY polymer clay cartouche tutorial so you can make your own pendant too!
This project is so much fun you might even end up ‘walking like an Egyptian’ before it’s completely baked.
Not often do I find myself repeating colors. Why? I like the “surprise” I get when I put new colors together. Sitting next to my marble work tile is a small little spiral bound notebook. I use this to jot down quick ideas or colors used for a new blend. I do this so that if I do create a color I want to repeat later, I can do it with ease. I didn’t learn to do this until after I had made the most gorgeous color imaginable and couldn’t reproduce it … because I had no idea what I put in it. *Sigh*
One of the most frequent questions that I receive from my readers is this: Where do you find your inspiration? The answer to this question is as simple as it is complicated. Why? Because in some ways you have to search for creative inspiration and yet in other ways it stares you in the face every single day.
It’s once again my pleasure to bring you another talented clay artist. Kimmie of Kimmie’s Clay Kreations has an imagination that is huge! She’s constantly coming up with new characters and bringing them to life. Read more about her below.
